Another great day touring the East Coast of PEI. We drove to the East Point where we received a “PEI Coast to Coast” certificate. A picture in front of the East Point lighthouse and a tour of the inside. It is 3 stories high with an exceptional view from the top.
Then off to Charlottetown and a walk down the Main Street farmers market. It was very busy with students returning to university.
A half hour drive brought us to the famous “Anne of Green Gables” Heritage House. A tour of the house and landscape that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s novels. The first classic novel Anne of Green Gables has been translated into 36 languages.
Supper tonight consisted of ocean fresh mussels AND lobster. We ate at the New Glasgow Lobster Supper in a banquet hall with many of the locals. They serve approximately 300 per night seven days a week and have been in operation since 1958. This was not just a dinner it was a unique island experience.
Tomorrow we’re off to New Brunswick. Stay tuned.
