GREAT day to be born

Today was the best birthday ever. It started with a delicious breakfast  served right to our room by Nicole our host. (Waffle for me and Eggs Benny for Rob)

We weren’t going to let the torrential wind/rain get in the way of our daily excursion so we jumped into our Hyundai Kona and headed out on the North Cape Coastal drive. Our first stop was at the North Cape Wind Energy Centre and the worlds oldest lighthouse. It’s evident from the picture that the wind blows here all. the. time.

Onward to Skinners Pond home of Stompin Tom Connors. Spent a couple hours hear listening to Tom’s songs  and enjoyed good old fashion PEI hospitality. My favourite Stompin Tom song was The Good Old Hockey  Game and Rob’s was Bud The Spud. Happy Birthday was sung to me by everybody in attendance while Rob and I enjoyed a very nutritional lunch and beer as you’ll see in the picture.

We continued along the coast driving along the shoreline. It’s amazing to see the red soil and water along the way. A sight only found in PEI. We stopped at a beautiful heritage sight Roman Catholic Church of Norte Dame du Mont Carmel built in 1812. I have no words to explain the beauty of this church. I think you will agree from the picture

To end the day we took in a show called Pendy’s Pub at the College of Piping and Celtic Performing. We were amazed at the singing, playing of the fiddle, accordion, guitar and spoons.

What a great jam packed day. I was blessed by many birthday wishes from family and friends  Life Is GOOD
